SCOUTS & CUBSThe 1st Gamlingay Scout Group welcomes boys & girls of all ages to join in the Scouting experience! Our Group is made up of four sections; there are two Cub Packs for those aged 8 to 10 and a half, a Scout Troop for those 10 and a half to 14 and an Explorer Unit for those between 14 and 18. Beyond that age there are wider opportunities with the Scout Network or as a leader/helper. Each section normally meets one evening a week during school term time. In addition, there is a variety of weekend activities especially camping which goes on all year round. All sections meet at the Scout Headquarters on Cinques Road, near the First School.
General InformationEach section is run by a Section Leader, Assistant Leaders and Helpers. In addition, support is provided by a Group Executive Committee, a group of parents who are responsible for the upkeep of the building and equipment. There is also a fund raising committee which organises events during the year. If you would like to know more about the Group or can help in some way please contact: Acting Group Scout Leader: Barry Jefferd. Tel: (01767) 261000. Alternatively contact the leader of the section which is of interest to you from the detail below.

EXPLORER SCOUT UNITThe age range is from 14 to 18. The broad Explorers programme reflects the interests of this age group, it should do as it is partial run by the Explorers themselves.
