SCOUTS & GUIDES

HISTORY

The Scout Movement is an international youth movement that welcomes members from all socail backgrounds, faiths and cultures. Its aims are to help young people develop mentally, physically and spiritually. This is achieved through an attractive training programme designed to enable young people to work with others, gain self confidence and take a constructive place in the community.

We have a Scout Group, Guide Company, Cubs and two Brownie Packs.

Associated with the Guides is a Trefoil Group, which caters for ex-Guides and Guiders.

Miss Orlebar started Guiding in the village in 1920. The Guide flag that she used may be found in the Church of St Mary the Virgin in the Guild Chapel.
