Benefice Joint Choir
There is a strong music tradition within the Benefice of Gamlingay and Everton and even though the churches in the villages each have their own robed choir, there is also a Benefice Joint Choir. It has in excess of twenty adult members and is open to all those living in the benefice, all on the electoral roll of either parish and to others by application or invitation. Auditions may be required for new members. Rehearsals are held on a Thursday evening at 6.45 p.m. for about 1 hour, usually in Gamlingay Parish Church. The Gamlingay choir sings regularly at the Gamlingay Parish Eucharist (each Sunday of the month excluding the first) and the Everton choir sings regularly at Everton services. The Joint Benefice Choir has taken part in the Ely Festival of Church Music, as well as contributing to other events. The choir is directed by Mr Chris Miller and the resident organist is Dr Rob Butcher.
Anybody interested in joining the choir should contact Mr Chris Miller (email) or by phone on 01767 650779. At present, the Gamlingay Choir and the Benefice Joint Choir are both adult choirs. There is a Junior Choir at Everton Church where training is undertaken by Mrs Margaret Warwick (682194) to whom enquiries should be addressed. .
